First seminar: Fundraising and Web 2.0

Are you ready for the first seminar on "Fundraising and Web 2.0"?Tomorrow, Tuesday 1st of April at 21.30 pm CET/ 12.30 am SLT noWomannoLife's island will provide a unique event. Paolo Ferrara (SL name Fundraising Yokosuka), creator of the blog Fundraising Now!, will be the special guest of the event. Together with seed's team he will discuss about the development and the relationship between Fundraising and Web 2.0.

noWomannoLife and seed's team would like to thank all participants who joined the event in the Art 4 Life gallery. More than 20 residents actually took part in the tour gallery, lead by Sav Rodenberger, and others reached the event when it was already finished. We would surely repeat this amazing experience! Art 4 Life: Air on canvas

Air is thin and invisible, but it could be represented by art. Have you ever thought how to catch this invisible element on canvas? On the 18th of March at 21.30 pm - 12.30 am SLT the Art 4 Life gallery on noWomannoLife's island (73/180/25) will host a unique event: you will be able to admire wonderful paintings realized by contemporary authors such as Christo, Griffa, Sam Francis, Shiraga, Kusama, and to understand how they enclosed air transparency on canvas. Visitors will be guided by art critic Sav Rodenberger (Saverio Repetto). Virtual paintings can be purchased in Second Life, while real paintings are available at De Primi's gallery, in Lugano, Switzerland. The entire amount of money will be donated to noWomannoLife.

L'aria è impalpabile, invisibile, ma non per questo non rappresentabile. Avete mai pensato come intrappolare l'aria su una tela? Vi aspettiamo martedì 18 marzo alle 21.30 nella galleria Art for Life, sull'isola di noWomannoLife's (73/180/25) per un evento unico: avrete la possibilità di ammirare splendidi quadri di autori contemporanei come Christo, Griffa, Sam Francis, Shiraga, Kusama, e di comprendere come essi abbiano racchiuso le trasparenze dell'aria su tela. Saremo guidati da Sav Rodenberger (Saverio Repetto), critico e gallerista. I quadri sono acquistabili in versione digitale in Second Life, mentre gli originali sono in vendita presso la galleria De Primi. I soldi raccolti verranno devoluti a noWomannoLife, fondazione svizzera attiva nel sostegno delle donne dell'area del Mediterraneo.

WWF in Second Life: Conservation Island

Conservation Island is WWF's home in Second Life. There, you can meet Mr Tangee, an orangutan who runs an ice cream van: he will teach you how the plantations that produce the palm oil that you can find in your everyday life (from ice cream to cosmetics) are threatening his forest home. Visit and explore the ancient forest, swim among the coral reefs, meet different animals and befriend a panda, who will keep you updated with latest environmental news.

Conservation Island è la casa del WWF in Second Life. Sull'isola potete incontrare Mr Tangee, un orangotango che distribuisce gelati con un camioncino: vi spiegherà come l'estrazione dell'olio di palma, presente in molti prodotti (dai gelati ai cosmetici) stia danneggiando la sua casa foresta. Visitate ed esplorate l'antica foresta, nuotate attraverso la barriera corallina, incontrate diversi animali e diventate amici di un panda, che vi terrà informati sulle ultime news ambientali.
